HOW TO SAVE $1.2 BILLION

The geniuses in the California state Legislature have found a way to save $1.2 billion - by releasing 27,300 convicted felons from state prisons.

If this gets passed, I think that for every new crime committed by one of these felons after their release, one member of Congress should go to jail alongside him/her, for the duration of their sentence. Sounds fair to me.

Instead of releasing known criminals, maybe they could investigate why it costs $19,000 a year in Florida to house a crimnal, but in California it takes $50,000.
